What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes that have movement and flexibility.

Will I be able to do a higher-level class if I’ve never been there before?

All of our classes can be modified to an individual’s level of personal fitness.

What if I’ve never done yoga before?

Yoga is a practice that is learned over time, there is no judgment in yoga, each individual body is different and all of our levels of flexibility and strength are different, therefore each persons practice has it own strengths.

I’m not flexible. Can I do Yoga?

Yes! You are a perfect candidate for yoga. Come as you are and you will find that yoga practice will help you become more flexible. This newfound agility will be balanced by strength, coordination, and enhanced cardiovascular health, as well as a sense of physical confidence and overall well-being.

Do I need shoes and or socks for class?

The only class you need shoes for is Evolve; in class there are polymeric movements that we feel shoes are beneficial for. Note: Clean, non-street shoes are preferred due to the hard wood floors where class is held.

What if I have a previous or current injury of some kind?

We suggest that you seek a medical opinion about the injury to make sure this is the right type of fitness for injury recovery, also be sure to inform your instructor of the injury so they can make helpful suggestions for modifications if needed.

How many classes should I take a week for my desired results?

Each individual is different in their body type, goals, and fitness level, therefore there is no one answer to that question, we suggest you do what feels good for your body with in reason.

Are the use of weights in Sculpt required?

Sculpt is a Yoga based class. Although we suggest the use of light weights they are by no means required, the benefits gained from the yoga practice are still present even if you chose to do class without weights.

Do I need a ballet background to take a Barre class?

Barre has some traditional ballet movements but the instructor will be guiding and demonstrating as in all of our classes, so by no means is a ballet background necessary. Barre fitness is just a great way to shape-up the lower body by using the barre for isolation holds and balance movements.

What equipment should I bring?

BYSE4 offers yoga mats, towels, and water (both bottled and purified for water bottle refills) all complimentary. Also any equipment such as Bosus and weights are provided. Just bring yourself and some great energy and we will see you in class.

Can yoga help me get rid my stress?

Exercise decreases the stress hormones such as cortisol and increases endorphins. Our yoga classes emphasize simple deep breathing with movement. You should come out of there knowing how to breathe and feeling more relaxed. All of our classes have an emphasis on breathing, either a yogic breath or strength training breath.

Should I eat before a class?

Instructors prefer that you don’t eat immediately before a class. Keep in mind you’re going to be bending and twisting and how your body, particularly your stomach, will feel doing that. The exception would be if you’re absolutely starving. Obviously you won’t be able to concentrate if your stomach is growling, so eat a little something – but just enough to get your through the class, not a full blown meal.

Why do instructors physically adjust students?

When an instructor physically adjusts you in class it is to help you with alignment, also to help you deeper into a posture or help you out of a posture. This will benefit you and know that this is a great thing! The instructor wants you to receive all of the benefits of class always in the safest way possible.
